What Causes A False Positive Drug Test Report For THC?
my son is 45. He tested positive for THC and has not smoked pot in 3 months. He was just diagnosed with enlarged liver and spleen. He is borderline diabetic. He takes lithium carbonate, metformin and zoloft. could any of these cause the false reading? If his liver is not functioning properly could the THC still be in his system?
Hello and Welcome to ‘Ask A Doctor’ service. I have reviewed your query and here is my advice.
The half life of THC is around twenty days and it will be flushed out completely in around three to four months. Since he has an existing live disease the drug stays little bit more in the body. The drugs he has taking does not affect the laboratory values. You can do a repeat test after couple of months.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
