What Causes A Feel Of Having Swollen Bump On Inner Calf Of Left Leg Leading To Pain?
HI. i VE HAD A PAIN IN THE INNER CALF OF MY LEFT LEG FOR I WOULD SAY AT LEAST A YEAR AND IF I CAN RECALL MY DOCTOR PRESCRIBED A STAT DOPPLER AND I GUESS IT PROVED TO BE NEGATIVE BECAUSE I WAS NOT ADMITTED INTO THE HOSPITAL.BUT AFTER WATCHING A COMMERCIAL LAST NIGHT CONCERNING DEEP VEIN THROMBOSIS I BECAME NERVOUS. IT FEELS LIKE A SWOLLENBUMP OR AS I DESCRIBE IT AS A SORE KNOT IN MY LEG AND ITS VERY PAINFUL. IF I ASCCIDENTALLY BUMP IT OR MY LITTLE ACTIVE 3 YR. OLD JUMPS ON ME AND HIT IT I LITERALLY SCREAM OUT FROM THE PAIN THIS CAUSES. BY THE WAY I M A 59 YR. OLD AFRICAN AMERICAN WOMAN WEIGHING IN AT 205LBS. SHOULD I BE ALARMED AT THIS AND CONTACT MY DOCTOR AGAIN?
Hi there! See , Deep Venous Thrombosis doesn't just present as a lump or swelling which is limited to one part of the leg or calf muscle. It usually causes swelling of the whole leg and also causes muscle cramps. If you have any of the features above then you can visit your doctor for a repeat doppler. See muscles undergo wear and tear and during the process of recovery may develop small knots on the muscles which can be painful during certain movements and upon pressing on them. For this Physiotherapy helps a lot. They apply hot fomentation over the knot and try to knead it out. Initially it is painful but in 2 or 3 sessions you'll start to feel better. Hope this helps.
