Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a sensation of pressure in my left eye accompanied sometimes with a gritty feeling in the eye as if I had something in my eye. A few days ago my eyes were watery in the morning. I have used an eye wash & broline eye drops, but the sensation while it has improved slightly, is still there. Do I have reason to be concerned that something more sinister is going on with my eye, eg. Brain tumour?
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have feeling of pressure in the eye ( Ocular Hypertension ) . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to certain reasons like excessive aqueous production , inadequate aqueous drainage , side effect of certain medicine , injury to the eye or corneal arcus. I would suggest you to consult ophthalmologist for proper examination and treatment . In some cases your eye doctor might recommend other glaucoma treatment measures, including glaucoma surgery, to treat high eye pressure. you should have your IOP measured at recommended intervals to monitor the condition.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
