I m having norethisterone withdrawal bleeding after 2 days of stopping it. My OG prescribed it because I used to have prolonged periods(not heavy flow just spotting for like 2 or 3 weeks) I have one 4×4×4cm uterine fibroid in left posterior wall of my uterus seen on USG.Is it normal to have such heavy menstruation after stopping norethisterone...I had to change like 5 sanitary pads yesterday which was the second day of bleeding after norethisterone withdrawal...The first day was just spotting of blood.
hello dear, i understood your concern, fibroid excess proliferation of utrus result in form mass. usually it may be due to overusage of oralcontaceptive pill for long time. so many factor responsible for it. treatment option depends on your age and number of time you were pregnant till now.
if your age is more than 40 yrs they will remove uterus. 20to 40 if you have children they do myomectomy.
otherwise conservative management.
usally bleeding after estrogen withdrawl is severe but not severe as you mentioned.
dont worry you will be treated safely. thank you.
