Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I was worried about being pregnant after I was two weeks late, I took a pregnancy test (came out negative) and on the 5th of April had a very bad period (normal for me.) it ended on April 10th. Yesterday I went to urinate and a glob of mucus with a small blood clot came out. Since then I have had slight abdominal cramps. I have no idea what s going on. Please help?
It is a normal physiologic process of body to pass a large clot or glob of mucus after an abnormal heavy amount of menses when it was delayed for a period of time due to hormone imbalance. Just wait for a period till next menstrual cycle, by which time, your menses will be getting normal flow pattern.
However, if it remains as same pattern over a period of times, one has to be cautious about the needed evaluations with hormone lab tests and ultrasound of the pelvis. Till the time being approach an intake of tablet anti spasmodic as Dicyclomine with drotaverine or mefenamic acid will help to relieve the spasms at best possible level.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Bhagyesh V. Patel, General Surgeon
