What Causes A Growing Red Spot Near The Mouth?

I went to the dentist 2 and a half months ago and within a few days I had a red spot appear close to the corner of my mouth then it just started to spread around my mouth...Went to the doctor he put me on metro gel did not work tried tons of homeopathic stuff...nothing helped then I went back to the doctor and he put me on antibiotics for a 20 day cycle over half done ...no help yet almost seams like it s getting worse...any help would be greatly appreciated...Thanks

Thanks for the query..

As per your complain red spot that is spreading around the mouth can be due to a condition known as Perioral Dermatitis..

It can be caused due to disturbances in microbial flora over the skin, bacterial infection,nasal and topical steroids, flouridated toothpastes, harsh chemical cosmetics, poor facial hygiene, hormonal imbalances etc..
I would suggest you to consult a Dermatologist and get evaluated and he can do a thorough clinical evaluation and advise you to apply topically ointments containing Doxycycline, Metronidazole..
You can also be advised oral intake of erythromycin..
Ointments containing Azaelic acid,Pimecrolimus etc can help..
Avoid any skin cosmetic or steroid ointments..
Avoid excess sun exposure, use gel based sunscreen lotion..
