Hi Doc, I have noticed a hard pea-sized lump just above the clitoris and partly on the clit last end of december of 2015 and until now it is still there. Its not painfull but im starting to feel worried. Is there anything that i can do before seeing a gyne? Please advice. Thank you.

Hello Patient,

A painless lump over the clitoris could be just a cyst, harmless in nature. Of course, it needs to be diagnosed. Most of the time, this type of cyst is left there without treatment. If it gets infected and causes pain or discomfort, then only its surgical removal is advised. So do not worry about it.

I would advise you to get one appointment with the gynecologist for the examination of the lump and to confirm diagnosis.

I hope this information helps you. Thank you for choosing HealthcareMagic. Take care.

Best,
Dr. Viraj Shah
