What Causes A Hard Lump And Swelling On The Knee Cap After An Injury?
Hello, I fell on to one knee with all my weight after twisting my right ankle. I iced it, elevated it and wrapped it but but the lump never disappeared. It is a 1/2 high hard lump and there is swelling on the right side of my knee cap extending a little down my leg. This happened 2 years ago and it is still there. To make matters worse, I fell on it again 2 months ago and now it hurts if I walk too much. Could I have impacted right where the tendon connects to the kneecap and damaged the tendon or have a damaged bone? As in small fracture that does not heal because the tendon keeps pulling it?

It could be a contusion or hematoma. As of now, you can use analgesics/anti-inflammatory combination like aceclofenac/serratiopeptidase for symptomatic relief.
If symptoms persist better to consult an orthopaedician and plan for an MRI scan.
