What Causes A Hard Lump Behind Left Ear?

yes my son has had a hard lump come up behind his left ear on the bone part yesterday. i took him to er the dr was kinda in a hurry due to er really backed up and he didnt even do blood work . and said he had an infection somewhere in his body and put him on antibiotics for a week kaflex. said after a week if it hasnt gone down then have him go to his dr and have a biospy done what would cause that to just pop up in one day he said it doesnt hurt its a little red but he said he dont hurt anywhere but has a history of bad ears and teeth could that be the problem?

Hello,

Most likely your son has chronic infection and that lump is a lymph node which can normally swell in kids due to any infection. You should complete a course of IV antibiotic after consulting his pediatrician.
