What Causes A Hard Mass Like Feeling At The Anus During Defecation?

Often, when I defecate, there is at least one that is small, hard like a pellet, about half and inch long.I just wondered if I should be concerned. I had a rectal exam 10 years ago and the proctologist said I was good for 10 years. I will be 85 in November and my internists said to avoid any further intrusion into the colon like that.

Hi
Thanks for posting on HCM
Hard mass like feeling at the anus during defecation is something to investigate.Neglecting it for long may cause more problems in future.Possible causes may include: anal or rectal cancer, polyp, hemmorhoid, wart...
I will suggest you see the Proctologist for examination. You may also need a rectocolonoscopy if your Proctologist sees it necessary.
Hope this will help
Best regards
