What Causes A Hard Painful Lump On The Right Ear Despite Using Azithromycin?

I had a small hard immobile lump ( like a pea) on back bone of my right ear 4 days ago. It has little pain when i press it. I came to a doctor and he told me that it was a lymph node. He gave me Azithromycine and i ve had it for 2 days. However, the node hasn t changed. What should i do now? Thanks

General & Family Physician 's  Response
HI, thanks for using healthcare magic

Lymph nodes respond to irritation or infection in their surroundings eg a lymph node in the head/neck responds to a throat or ear infection, a cough or cold, skin infection

The lymph node itself can take 4 to 6 weeks to resolve so it would not go away this quickly.
If a lymph node is identified, the source of enlargement should be determined.

Need to find out why it is enlarged

I hope this helps
