What Causes A Head Knot With Soreness And Dizziness?

My husband and I hit heads 3 days ago. My head was sore, I even had a small knot on my head. 30 minutes later I started having dizzy spells. I felt like the room was spinning. Today on day three I still feel that way. Could this be because of something else or because of the head bump.

Emergency Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi there,
I am Dr. Deepak, I work in Emergency Department, where I see many patients with injury to their head. As you mentioned you had injured your head 3 days ago, you felt bit dizzy and you feeling to have it like room spinning.
I feel you had sustained minor injury to your head, I can say that as
1. You didn't had vomiting even though you had nausea.
2. You didn't loose consciousness.
3. You are not feeling any numbness or weakness of any one side of your body
4. You are not having any blueish discoloration around your eyes and behind the ear
And the most important thing is you are pretty much okay right now, except for the dizzy spell.
There is a possibility that your dizzy spell and injury to the might be related. The possible explanation is, our ears have 3 canal which help us balance, each of the canal has a small stone which when gets displaced it may lead to dizzy feeling.
what I can suggest is
1. You can wait and watch if it comes down.
2. You can try few exercises like Epley maneuver, and similar one which you can find the internet.
3. If it still persists then you can show it to an ENT specialist. Who can examine you and let you know what might be the problem and suggest further treatment.

Thank you
Hope your concern was dealt with and hope you have a speedy recovery.
