What Causes A High Level Of Triglycerides In Blood?
hi I have recently taken lipid profile test, and got to know that i have elevated triglycerides - 615. Am 27 years old female and is of 148 pounds with 5.2 height. I mostly follow healthy diet and couldn t understand how do i get elevated triglycerides at this age ? Please let me know the diet to follow, reasons for getting it and remedy for it.
hello user , i understand your concerns . by the way going by your inputs of weight and height - your BMI (body mass index) comes as 27.1 - which is in overweight range (it is normal between 18.5-24.5) - so it is already a risk factor for raised triglycerides - other contributory factors may be sedentary life style , alcohol use , hormonal pills use etc - also this hypertriglyceridemia can be a familial condition as well - which runs in the families , that way one can have it even following a healthy diet - you should consult a physician preferably a cardiologist who would like to put you on lipid lowering drugs like stations, fibrates etc along with life style changes such as moderate exercise for 30 mins daily - consuming green leafy vegetables, fresh fruits - avoiding fatty foods, processed foods etc . hope i answered your query - take care
