What Causes A Huge Itchy Bruise On The Penis Post Intake Of Bactrim?
Ok so a few things happened about 7 days ago my wife gave me a pretty aggressive blow job. Two days later I was put on Bactrim for an abscess on my leg (unrelated). The next day I started to have some bad reactions to the Bactrim but now I have like a huge bruise (discoloration and itchy) on the skin of my penis. I was told by my doctor to stop the Bactrim which I did two days ago. But my penis is not getting better .Not sure if it is trauma or the meds but what should I do
Fixed dose eruption This is most probably fixed drug eruption (FDE). Fixed drug eruption is a type of allergic reaction to a medicine. It characteristically recurs in the same site each time a particular drug is taken. The lesions usually develop within 30 minutes to 8 hours of taking the drug. FDE normally resolves with hyperpigmentation and may recur at the same site with re-exposure to the drug. Bactrim is a common drug involved in FDE. Advice 1. Stop Bactrim immediately and never take it in future. Keep a card in your pocket mentioning that you are allergic to Bactrim 2. Apply betamethasone cream (Betnovate – C cream) locally thrice daily. 3. Tablet levocetirizine 5 mg daily per oral for 5 days Hyperpigmentation may persist for a long time. It is totally harmless and no treatment is needed for this. Thanks!
