What Causes A Large Bruise On The Arm?

Hey, the other night I pulled a muscle on the backside of my elbow, later a big fluid pocket came up but went back down. Just a little while ago I noticed this big bruise on my arm that came up about 20 minutes after I got out of the shower. I have been propped up on this elbow watching tv when I saw it. Thanks

General Surgeon 's  Response
Once a muscle gets over stretched, some of the muscle fibers tear causing an hematoma of the region. You shall have to give complete rest to the arm for at least 2 weeks, the time taken for mild or moderate muscle injury to heal. The hematoma will resolve on its own in about 2 weeks. After healing of the muscle injury, only please start with mild strain to the arm, and gradually increase the strain to the arm.
