What Causes A Large Bruise On The Wrist?

I developed a large bruise on my left wrist near the base of the thumb after showering. There was no trauma to the area, it just appeared suddenly. I do not suffer from high blood pressure but do have hypothyroidism, with my most recent thyroid check in August of this year being completely normal.

sudden bruise with out trauma needs evaluation. Need to get an ultrasound of the wrist and hand. Many develop swelling at the wrist post excess movement called ganglions. Meet a surgeon (plastic surgeon) for evaluation and further management.
