What Causes A Large Lump At The Base Of Neck?

I have all symptoms of underactive thyroid but blood tests came back negative. I noticed last night that when I lie on my side a large lump can be seen at front , base of neck. Feeling exhausted as this has been going on for so long. Waiting to see rheumatologist. Any ideas? Thanks.
