Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Today I noticed that the skin just above the top of my belly button looked slightly distended and felt hard. I put my finger in my belly button and pinched it against the top skin. It flattened out but I felt air..or something moving around! It s ever so slightly sore (probably from my pinching it). It came back a bit once, a short time later and I did the same thing to squeeze the air back into my abdomen and it hasn t come back yet (but that was a short time ago). I have no other symptoms. Is there any chance this is just bad gas? Should I see a doctor immediately?
It may be mild form of umbilical hernia. It may be due to weakness in abdominal muscle. Consult the surgeon for the perfect diagnosis and proper treatment. After thorough examination and investigations he might take decision for the strategy of management.
