Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes A Lump And Small Blisters Inside The Lower Lip?
I have a lump on the inside of my lower lip. It started as just a red part of the lip forming into a lump. Now it looks like there are two tiny blisters on it. I also have what feels like a canker sore at the bottom inside of my lower lip. Do I need to see a doctor?
There could be many reasons that can cause the swelling and blisters you are experiencing. Fortunately, most of the ulcers in mouth including blisters and canker sores can be treated in the same way.
You should apply 0.1% Triamcinolone Acetonide Gel (Kenacort) topically over the swelling and ulcer. You can apply this gel 3 to 5 times in a day. Most of the ulcers in mouth can be due to stress or stomach upset. Try to add more fibers in your diet and relax if you can. Adding vitamin supplements can help, too.
However, if the ulcers do not go away in 5 to 7 days or if they reoccur frequently after disappearing this time, you should see a dentist to figure out specific cause of the problem and for treatment. If a tooth or restoration is irritating the area, it might need to get smoothened by the dentist.
I hope this information helps. Thank you for choosing HealthCareMagic. Take care.
Best, Dr. Viraj Shah
