Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hello! Ive recently discovered a pea sized, hard, immobable lump on the back of my wife s neck (the place where the scull connects with the neck, more to the right side). The lump is immovable, as if it was cojoined with bone. It is hard to push, and not painful unless pushed hard. My wife is 20 years old. What may be the possible causes, and should we consult the doctor immediately? Thank you.
Understanding your concern. As per your query you have lump at the back of the neck . Well the symptoms you mention in query can occur due to may reasons like Contact dermatitis , allergic reaction due to detergent, soap , metal such as in jewelry, poison oak or ivy, an animal bite, or an insect sting and lyme disease . The symptoms can also occur due to lymphnode infectionor it could be lipoma. I would suggest you to consult dermatologist for proper examination . Doctor may prescribe anti histamine , corticosteroid ointmet and may give adrenaline short . For now take benadryl twice a day and avoid any cosmetic product . Do not touch it again and observe if it increases in size , shifting or notApply ice pack on rashes to reduce redness and itchiness . Protect your skin from direct sunlight and cover it with cotton cloth while going outside .
Hope your concern has been resolved.
