What Causes A Lump At The Crease Of The Elbow?

I have a lump that is quite noticeable when I extend my arm at the crease of the elbow. There is also one right next to it more in the middle of my elbow. I had an ultrasound done and could see a white mass in the area where the lump is and where she was scanning. It does itch and is painful. Should I be concerned?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hi,

Lumps at the elbow may have few causes and is not a concern most of the times. But it's better to be evaluated as what exactly it can be.

This may be bursa, cyst, or nodule. It's difficult to exactly say with out seeing it. But very often they are not any serious.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
Dr. Mahboob Ur Rahman, General & Family Physician
