Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I have a moveable lump which starts just below my navel on my right side and when i press it moves up into my right side and sometimes under my ribs. There is no pain associated with it just a pressure feeling occasionally. Am i feeling my intestines?
It occurs when a weakness in the abdominal muscle allows the tissues of the abdomen to protrude through the muscle and that happens to be in the middle of the stomach that is between the breastbone and the navel /belly button. It occurs when fat impulses past the weakest portion of belly wall.
Sometimes it gets stuck in the “out” position is referred to as an incarcerated hernia which gets strangulated (“strangulated hernia”) where the tissue that bulges outside of the muscle is being starved of its blood supply. This can cause the death of the tissue that is bulging through the hernia.
You are advised to consult a surgeon for proper clinical examination and treatment which may involve a mesh graft. The mesh is permanent and prevents the hernia from returning, even though the defect remains open.
Hope this helps.

What Causes A Lump Below The Navel?
Hi & Welcome. Incomplete data like age, gender, duration of having the current problem? Based on the history you seem to be having epigastric hernia.
