Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I have a lump near my elbow that seems to be growing. It is flesh-colored and hard and somewhat painful if touched. I went to a dermatologist a while back, and she told me I could not have it removed b/c it would grow back larger. I can t remember what she called it though, and now I m suspecting I have Ehler-Danlos Syndrome (EDS) and that this may be part of it. What is it called and can I have it removed? (I don t see where to upload a photo, or I would.)

General & Family Physician, Dr. Dr. Ali's Response
Nodules (the swelling you have) are very common presentation in Ehler-Danlos Syndrome. These Nodules can be removed by a cosmetic or plastic surgeon for cosmetic purposes but they can regrow. So you can get them removed but the end results are not guaranteed except cosmetic implications.
