What Causes A Lump On The Forehead Post A Head Injury?
I fell and bust my head wide open. It required 7 stitches under the skin and 14 on top. I am 18 yo. I was rushed to the ER. They were put in 9 days ago. I have to remove them myself. Going to doctor is not an option because I am uninsured with no job. The problem is that a bump almost the size of a golfball is on my forehead under the stitches. This just came 2 days ago. When I remove stitches will this go down? How do I deflate it? Once again, going to the doctor is not an option.

Thank you for your question
The bump under your head is most likely from something called a hematoma, which is a collection of blood
It is likely that it will go down when you remove the stitches, however the wound might pop open
You don't need to deflate it, it will go down on its own or the blood will come out if you remove the stitches. It is not anything to worry about, not serious or life threatening
You might consider going back to the ER where you had the stitches placed, a lot of ER don't charge for suture removal since it is usually considered part of the charge for placing them, you might call and ask
Hope that helps
