Hi, a lump all of a sudden appears on my forehead above my eyebrow last month. It went away and it appears again today. I appreciate any advice. actually I had some stress today on my job and I just noticed that the lump appears on my forehead. is this related to stress? thank you so much
Hello, A lump on your forehead is unlikely to be caused by stress. I would tell that the lump is more related to blocking of your glands on your eyebrow. There are different types of glands in the eyebrow that brings out secretion, like the glands in your face and other parts of the body which brings out sebum, sweat etc. If there is a blockage of this glands it can cause swelling.
It's not a serious condition although if it's recurrent a consult should be done. For now you can try using topical creams such as clindamycin or bacitracin as most of the times blockage is followed by infection by the normal bacteria found in our skin. The condition is usually self limited and will go on its own. If it cause worsening symptoms like headache, visual complaints or if its recurrent consult your physician for finding other causes.
