Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I took a hard fall last Friday night. I hit my head hard had a large bump and applied ice for several hours. I have had a sore headache all week and today I have a black eye. Been sleepy too. Should I be seen or has the healing started because the eye is blue? I did have a hair look me fracture at 12 so I have seen this before. But I am 53
The lump on the head after an injury is usually due to trauma. I recommend using anti inflammatory medication for the pain such as Ibuprofen 400 mg three times a day. I also recommend using cool compresses to help with the edema. If you have further symptoms such as headache or feeling lightheaded I suggest to do further examinations such as a MRI for further evaluations.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi,
General & Family Physician
