What Causes A Lump On The Left Side Of The Neck And Recurrent Headaches?

My son has a lump on the left side of his neck that has been there only about 4-5 days. He told me about this last night when we saw him. He also has been getting frequent headaches for the past few weeks which I just learned about yesterday. The lump is not a round encapsulated lump but more of a growth that feels attached to either the muscle of something. It does not move.

Hello,

1) This can be the case of dentoalveolar abscess affecting neck region which is probably due to carious teeth

2) Another possibility is an infection of the submandibular gland due to duct blockade

3) There is also a chance of ear infection.

All these problems can cause swelling with a headache. You don't worry I recommend you get yourself checked by general dentist first. This will rule out the possibility of dental infections.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care
