What Causes A Lump On The Neck?

I have a small lump just below my skin where my neck joins my shoulder. Almost feels like the size of a very inflamed ingrown hair or blemish but it s happened before in the exact same spot and its not a surface lump, it s under my skin. I have RA and take meds for my disease. Should I be worried about this lump?

Hi, skin nodules are common in Rheumatoid arthritis but they are painful. If the lump is soft and moves easily, it is a fat collection called lipoma. If it has a white spot on top it could be a sebaceous cyst, that will have to be surgically removed. In case it keeps disappearing on its own, it cannot be anything serious. Regards
