Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Husband, age 69, was doing his regimen of exercises. One of those is to lift weights (30 lbs.). Suddenly a lump has appeared on top of his shoulder. It is about the size of one side of a ping pong ball. . .perhaps a little smaller. After some research, I m leaning toward separated shoulder . What to do? And what is your opinion?
The symptoms can be related to a separated shoulder. I suggest to do an X-ray of the shoulder to confirm the diagnosis. Meanwhile, I suggest to avoid moving the shoulder. In case of pain, I recommend to use Ibuprofen to relieve the pain.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Dorina Gurabardhi, General & Family Physician
