Hi
Leg swelling/lump caused after heavy metal injury may be due
-To retention of fluid in leg tissues is known as
peripheral edema. It can be caused by a problem with the circulatory system, the lymphatic system
-
Thrombophlebitis (a blood clot that usually occurs in the leg)
-
Cellulitis (a
skin infection)
-Knee
bursitis (inflammation of fluid-filled sacs in the knee joint)
- Inflammation of bone
You may do the following do get the relief
Apply cold compression
Pain Killers(in consultation with your doctor)
Elevation/Leg rise during sleeping(two pillows can be kept below the legs while sleeping)
Remove all rings(in case of ladies) anklets, or any other jewelry that goes around a leg. It will be harder to remove the jewelry later if swelling increases
Do not smoke or use other tobacco products. Smoking slows healing because it decreases blood supply and delays tissue repair
if problem persisits even after 3-4 days please see the surgeon and you may be advised the investigations like X-ray, doppler of leg etc
Wish You Good Health
