Hi,I am Dr. Shivaprasad C (Endocrinologist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My son is 5 and has a lymph node swollen on his left cheek bone and no other symptons and my daughter who is 9 now had the same thing and she had to have hers removed 4 years ago and it came back negative. Hers was on the right side of the neck that they removed and before they removed she had 2 more pop up on the back of her neck could this be caused by a genetic condition since my son has lym nodes swelling.
Is there any tooth carries on that side? An isolated lymph node swelling is unlikely to be genetic. If the node is not tender and no associated symptoms like fever, weight loss, night sweats or anorexia, we need not worry much. Need for investigations depends on its actual size, consistency and whether it is progressively enlarging. Kindly discuss with your pediatrician.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
