What Causes A Missed Period After A Medical Abortion?
I had an medical abortion on the 27th of September and everything went fine and then I got my first period after it in November. it is now December and I missed it. I have been reading online that others had that issue but I wanted another opinion . I am not having any pregnancy symptoms and I took a test on the 4th late day and it was negative.
Hi, Thanks for posting in HCM. I understand your concern. It may take a couple of months or sometimes upto 6 months for periods to become regular following an episode of abortion. This is because, the hormonal changes taken place during pregnancy could take about 6 months to come back to normal basal levels. Until then, you might experience certain irregularities in your menstrual pattern. Kindly consult Gynecologist for appropriate clinical evaluation and management in case the periods does not come back to normal by 6 months. Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
