What Causes A Nose Bleed In A Child?

Hi, My 3 year old has bad enviornmental allergies and takes a antihistamine and nasal spray everyday. She usually has a runny nose with clear mucous, itchy eyes and even wheezing when the weather changes or if the pollen is high but it usually goes away and is not severe. She has had a really stuffy nose, alot of thick mucous and a bad smell from her nose. She had a nose bleed last night and Im cocerned thats it might be more than allergies.

Pediatrician, Pulmonology 's  Response
Hi,

In children who have seasonal allergies, it is very common to have occasional nosebleed like this.

You need to worry about this only if there is a family history of a bleeding disorder or if there is a history of excessive bleeding when she was vaccinated. Otherwise, you can rest assured.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
