What Causes A Painful Bruise On The Side Of The Foot?

I am a dancer and I dance on pointe shoes often and yesterday I got home and felt a dull pain on the side of my foot. There is a bruise that has darkened and gotten bigger and it hurts to touch even lightly. It s still not a huge bruise and its not bad to walk on, but it s still painful to do certain things and to have things touch it. Just curious if I should be concerned and see a doctor or do you think it will heal on its own and isn t serious?

Hello,

Painful bruise on the side of the foot in dancers are commonly caused by tiny blood clots formed due to repeated pressure while dancing.

You can apply ointment Thrombophob on the area affected for relieve & reducing bruise. Take analgesics to ease the pain.

Since you are a dancer, take care of your feet. Take epsom salts baths, try padding & cushions, take care of toenails, treat blisters, use moleskin patches. Give adequate rest to your feet.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
