What Causes A Painful Bump Around A Tragus Piercing?
Hi, I got my tragus pierced about 2 months ago. One day I woke up and my ear was very sore. When I realized it was my tragus, I tried to take out the piercing but noticed there was a bump that completely covered the back of my piercing. I cant take off the piercing at all and its very painful. What do I do?
It looks like your ear pierced site is infected leading to swelling and pain.. It is also possible that if you are not wearing earrings made of inert metals like gold then it can also react to air and water causing decomposition products which can react to your skin and cause irritation, allergic reaction and infection. If it is too painful and you are not able to remove the earring due to pain you can try after applying Lidocaine gel over the area as it will help in numbing the same.. You can also consult an Emergency service so that they can help you under aseptic precautions.. You should also apply a combination antibiotic and steroid ointment over it.. Do cool compresses.. Take a script of antibiotics like Augmentin and painkillers like Ibuprofen.. In future try to wear gold earrings..
Hope this helps..
Regards..
