What Causes A Painful Bump Around The Lips?

Hello! I have what seems to be a hair bump right the very edge of my lip, where the skin ends and the actual lip corner begins. I have had hair bumps before but never on the very edge close to my lip. The bump feels sore when I put pressure on it. What can I do to get rid of this?

Hi.
Thanks for the query..

The bump can be either a hair follicle Infection or an ingrown hair..

The soreness can be due to inflammation and Infection..

So my suggestion is to consult an Emergency room and get evaluated..
You can be advised to apply antiseptic ointment over the lump..
You can also do cool compresses over the lump..
If it is an ingrown hair and does not get better then a small incision can be given to remove the hair followed by a course of oral and topical antibiotics..

Hope this helps..

Regards..
