Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I had been getting dull pain on the left side of my Upper Jaw . Well all a sudden there arose a red sold mass Bump right were the pain was. and sense the Bump Appeared. The pain there has stopped. And the Bump has not Changed or even started to go away. What could it be?
As per your query painful bump on jaw bone is because of clogged duct of salivary gland.
Sometimes the duct of salivary gland get clogged due to stone or foreign body . This will lead to accumulation of saliva which sometimes get infected and start paining. This condition is known as 'MUCOCELE'
I would suggest you to consult oral pathologist for proper examination and to rule out conditions like tooth abscess or infected lipoma.
Doctor may prescribe antibiotics , may perform marsupilization or remove surgically under local anesthesia.
It it is infected lipoma doctor may perform liposuction or prescribe antibiotics or remove surgically.
For now give warm compresses 2-3 times a day . Take ibuprofen(if not allergic) or acetaminophen for pain and swelling.
Hope your concern has been resolved.
Best Wishes, Dr. Harry Maheshwari
