What Causes A Painful Cyst On The Scalp?
I have a cyst on my scalp - top of head- that I have had for at least 5 years. It was small and didn t hurt so my doctor was not concerned about it. Last week it began to hurt, and feel bigger. I went to the hairdresser last week and I am thinking he may have nicked it a bit. It has started to sort of scab a little as if it was leaking. I have an appointment with a surgeon on Wednesday but am a little worried.

I'm glad you set an appointment with surgeon. I think it might be a boil however, need to get further investigations. You can take paracetamol or ibuprofen for the pain until you see your surgeon.
