What Causes A Painful Fluid Filled Lump On The Knee Post Injury From A Fall?

My left knee has a orange size fluid filled nodule. Just a little painful. I did fall a month a go and bruised it really bad and it was swollen and bruised had xray but not broken. It seemed to be healing fine but this came up Sunday morning and my knee would pop out of socket.

General Surgeon 's  Response
Hello,

It can be a knee joint effusion. You have to get an ultrasound scan to assess the severity of the disease. If there is significant fluid collection, ultrasound guided aspiration may be required.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Take care

Regards,
Dr. Shinas Hussain
