Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
is it common if a lipoma occurred between 80 years -old women? my mun has got lipoma on her leg and it has been removed thrice since it grew under her skin and it was large and much painful. i am afraid that it may grow again with painful. is it possible to grow again? how can we avoid to grow it again?
Lipoma can occur at any age. So, it can be possible to develop such benign soft tissue lesion in the older age group. If it is infected, then only pain can occur in Lipoma.
I suggest you investigate with a histopathology examination of excised tissue if preserved. The possibility of recurrence less and for that no extra precaution needed.
Hope I have answered your query.
Let me know if I can assist you further.
