Hi, Thank you for using Healthcare Magic.
I understand your concerns, but you should still be calm.
Generally the lumps that arise in the orbit of the eyelids can occur due to several things, such as:
1.
Chalazion - a lump due to blockage of oil glands in the inside of the petals. The lump is usually painless, not red, yellowish, feels like there is a foreign object propping on the eyes
2.
Hordeolum - a lump due to infection. The lump is usually painful, red, with swollen eyes, red, and watery
A. Internal Hordeolum - a lump on the inside of the eyelid
B. External hordeolum - a lump on the inside and outside of the eyelid.
To find out what you are experiencing, you can consult an ophthalmologist. The doctor needs to look directly at the lump shape, and will probably perform a slit-lamp examination. Treatment varies depending on the cause.
Here are some things you can do to help alleviate and prevent the condition happening again:
- Warm compress in the lump
- Keep eye hygiene always
- Do not rub your eyes
- Wash your hands before sleeping and after touching one sore eye.
- If using contact lenses, keep the contact lens clean.
Hope this helps.
Take care.
