What Causes A Painful Lump In The Groin Area?

I have a swollen looking bump between my a is and testicles. I am 28 year old male. The pain and lump arose today. Could this be from using a washcloth too hard when I showered. I have no issue urinating. I am currently on a metabolism booster and a diet and I have not ate a lot of food today. Should I take some Advil for the swelling and observe in 24 hours?

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Your groin lump could be a swollen lymph gland. Genitourinary infections may cause lymph node inflammation in the groin region. I suggest using anti inflammatory medications such as Advil to relieve the swelling. If the symptoms continue, I suggest to do a urine test and blood test for further evaluation.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
