Hi Dear,

Understanding your concern. As per your query you have symptoms of painful lump on the throat which could be due to acid reflux from stomach leading to excessive production of bile. It could be due to throat infection and might be due to tonsillitis. I would suggest you to consult ENT specialist for proper checkup. Doctor may order test like throat swab test along with blood tests. Doctor may prescribe antibiotics like penicillin along with decongestant and anti inflammatory. For now do warm saline gargles and take steam twice a day . Suck sugar free candy and keep yourself hydrate. In case of acid reflux Proton pump inhibitors like Pantoprazole could be relieving. Avoid oily and fried food.

Hope your concern has been resolved.

Best Wishes,
Dr. Harry Maheshwari
