What Causes A Painful Lump Under The Arm With Bruise?
I have had a lump under my armpit for a week and it is the size of a pound coin but when I feel around it its deep. It hurts towards the end of the day and evening. I could not lie on my size because it would hurt. It was tender go raise my arm. Over the last few days it s stopped hurting so much but has now gone a dark purple in that area. What is it? I haven t knocked it or done anything out of the ordinary.
You have a painful lump under the arm with bruise. It hurts and is now purple in color. Painful lump can be due to many factors like boil (furuncle), skin cyst, skin abscess, enlarged lymph nodes, mononucleosis, developing malignancy, lymphoma, etc. You are apply ointment Thrombophob, on the purple bruise. It will help to reduce inflammation and any blood clot under the skin.
You are suggested to get clinically examined by a GP, get all routine blood workout done, imaging tests and a potential biopsy done. You will be treated accordingly. In the meantime, you can take pain relieving medicines like Naproxen (NSAIDS). You will be treated with a course of antibiotics. You may be recommended surgery by your treating doctor if it’s due to lipomas, cysts or other skin issues.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
