Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
Hi, I am writing because my right Lymph node under my jaw is painful. it is slightly, not excruciatingly painful, however if I move my head or when I talk it feels painful like a crick in my lymph node. So I want to know what should I do...it has been 2 days.
A Lymph node with a two day history is going to be reactive one only although an early chronic infection can't be ruled out at this stage.
Take a course of Tab Augmentin 375 mg or 625 mg twice a day depending on your weight and paracetamol tabs 500 mg 5-6 times a day. If it doesn't improve take a Chest X ray to rule out anything serious like TB or mass. Further follow up has to be with an FNAC the procedure usually performed by an Histopathologist to aspirate some material from the node and stain it and examine under microscope. But I expect the things will not go that far and Augmentin will be the solution. Don't tale any Flouroquinolone [-the -floxacin suffixed drugs] that may mask TB.
Hope for the best.
