What Causes A Painful Red Rash Near The Genitals?

This is the third time in as many years (approximately) that I have developed a bright red rash (in a discreet location...sometimes circular) that I only notice because the area became extremely painful...like a very bad bruise. Contracting the muscles around the rash is painful. The rash is not raised, and is very hot to the touch. Twice, it s been on my back. Today it is on my upper abdomen and the inside of both breasts. I always want to think it s some kind of insect bite because of the way it hurts, but there is never a mark on the rash. This is the first time it wasn t in one specific spot. Is it some kind of contact dermatitis? I live in the woods and am outdoors often.
