What Causes A Painful Skin Tag On The Left Side Of The Tonsil?

Hi, I have what an ENT diagnosed as a skin tag in my throat for a few years now. My concern is that it may either be something else or simply irritated and needs to be removed. It almost protrudes out from the top of my left tonsil it is flesh like but more white than red - not a tonsil stone white. It is very annoying and hurts when I swollen like some thing is stuck at the back of my throat. Very very annoying. What can I do??

General & Family Physician 's  Response
Hello,

Skin tags are growths that usually are harmless. In case of pain there should be an inflammation. I suggest using Tylenol in case of pain. If the pain continue, it should be removed.

Hope my answer was helpful. If you have further queries feel free to contact me again.

Regards,
