What Causes A Painless Lump At The Back Of The Skull?

I ve noticed there s a lump on the lower back middle of my skull, I ve done some research and it seems as if it s normal. Still though I can t stop thinking about it every time I rest my head on something it feels uncomfortable. I m not sure if it s just me being paranoid or not.

Hi

The shape and contour of the lump may help in diagnosis.Smooth lumps may occur due to sebaceous cyst, lipoma or acne or abscess.Bony lumps may be due to tumours or osteophyte formation.

History of trauma ,headache ,visual difficulties should be ruled out. An x-ray or CT scan may be required to rule out any bony deformities.

Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.
