Hi,I am Dr. Shanthi.E (General & Family Physician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
What Causes A Painless Swelling Below The Collar Bone?
I have what feels like a swollen area beneath colar bone, above breast almost centre of the chest. It feels larger then the other side, it s not sore, I can t move it, it feels like a bone. I keep touching it everyday wandering if I m imagining it or not. should I wait to see if it gets larger? Guessing if it is cancerous then it would grow?
I would advise you to visit a surgeon to get yourself examined for the swelling as there are many causes for having a swelling over the area mentioned by you. Waiting for it to grow further is not a good idea. You might be required to get an ultrasound done to find out the probable cause of the swelling and a biopsy for the confirmation. Chances of it to be cancerous is very bleak however getting to the exact cause is very much required at initial stages.
Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.
Regards,
Dr. Anoop Kumar, General & Family Physician
