Hi..
Can understand your concern..
As per your complain the soft lump under the jaw can be an
enlarged lymph node..
The enlargement of lymph node most commonly occurs due to some or the other kind of infection and in case of lymph node swelling under the jaw is due to any infected tooth or any inflammation over the gum flap covering the wisdom tooth if it gets infected as the area between the wisdom tooth and the gun flap gets infected due to food debris deposition.
The swelling can also occur at times due to infection in ear ,
common cold ,
tonsillitis tuberculosis and several skin infections when the lymph draining from other lymph nodes carries the bacteria along while draining from these lymph nodes and the bacteria causes inflammation in the lymph nodes..
As you have a minor swelling it will slowly be be reduced and will be no longer apprentice when the infection subsides..
In case it is due to wisdom tooth and if you get any symptoms of pain and increased swelling you should consult a dental surgeon and get treated accordingly..
As of now you can relax and just wait and watch and you should consult a doctor only if swelling increase..
Hope this information helps..
